Extremely comprehensive and well thought out foray into veterinary critical care of electrolyte (sodium & potassium) and acid-base disturbances, with applications for managing complex ECC scenarios like DKA (and many others). This includes evidence-based consideration for management of typical and uncommon situations, including anesthesia of the unstable hyperkalemic patient. Lectures are appropriately focused, interspersed with critical thinking exercises which increased my retention of the information. The excel-based calculators for various tasks (acid-base analysis, free water and sodium deficits, potassium and phosphorus administration, creating custom solutions, etc) alone are worth the price of admission.
